Safety First - No Exceptions!

All Drivers, Please Note:

When it comes to safety, there can be no exceptions. No one is exempt from the rules, whether on-site or on customer property. Please take heed.

Unfortunately, for the third time in a very short period of time, one of our drivers was reprimanded for not wearing safety glasses at a local customer. This is in direct violation of the customer’s safety procedures. One offense is bad enough; three violations of the same rule is inexcusable.

Safety rules and procedures are put in place for a reason. Not observing the rules shows a lack of professionalism and reflects poorly on our company and the profession. Please make every effort to be in compliance at all times. Thank you.

Drop-Off Request for Reed City, MI Yoplait Plant

After meetings last week, we have been requested not to drop trailers early at the Reed City, MI Yoplait plant. Please adhere to this request, as this is a very sensitive issue.

Sticking to your appointed time will help with trailer flow and will reduce the instances of having no empty to pull after dropping. Most importantly, it will help keep the customer happy.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Winter has arrived at our Bay City, MI headquarters.

Final Rule Bans Handheld Cell Phone Use for Truck Drivers
Truck Driver Cell Phone Ban
Important Notice: In a final rule posted on November 23, 2011 by The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and the Pipeline and Hazardous Material Safety Administration, U.S. Transportation Secretary, Ray LaHood, announced that handheld cell phone usage by interstate truck and bus drivers will soon be prohibited.

If drivers are found using handheld devices while operating their vehicles, they will face federal civil penalties of up to $2,750 for each offense and may lose the privilege to operate a commercial motor vehicle after multiple offenses. Commercial truck and bus companies are also on the hook for fines, and could face a maximum penalty of $11,000 for allowing their drivers to use handheld cell phones while driving.

This rule, which will affect approximately 4 million commercial vehicle drivers, will go into effect 30 days after publication in the Federal Register. We will provide an update with the exact date as soon as it’s announced.
